 Brenda Gordon – Children’s Ministry Director
Brenda and her husband, Sylvan, have been members of the Edmond
congregation for over 20 years. During most of that time, Brenda was a
public school teacher while raising her two daughters, LeAnna and
Audrey. In 2003, Brenda went to work full-time with the children’s
educational program at the Edmond church. Brenda graduated from Oklahoma
Christian. |

 Rob
Long - Singles Minister (Pathfinders)
Rob and his wife, Sarah, were married in the summer of 2008, and
began their ministry with singles at the Edmond congregation in
August. Rob graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees
in Bible/Ministry from OC and has served congregations in
Oklahoma City and in Ohio before coming to Edmond. Rob enjoys
golf and Ohio State football. |
 Alan
Martin – Community Outreach Minister
Alan, Family Life Ministry Professor at Oklahoma Christian
University, serves the Edmond Church as part-time Community
Outreach Minister. Alan received his Master's degree in
Family Therapy from ACU and a PhD. in Family and Child Ecology
from Michigan State University. He has served in ministry
in various congregations in South Africa, West Monroe, LA,
Searcy, AR, Abilene, TX and most recently at Lansing, MI.
He and his wife Linda have three grown children living in the
Dallas metroplex area. |
 Evan
Burkett – Campus Minister
Evan has been a member of the Edmond Church since 1993, serving
as deacon of Campus Ministry for the past 8 years. In the
summer of 2007, Evan decided to transition from a 14-year career
in the insurance industry to begin full-time Campus Ministry at
Edmond. He graduated from Oklahoma Christian in 1991 with
a degree in Finance, and he and his wife Rachel spent two years
in Japan as vocational missionaries after college. They
have two children: Levi and Canaan. |
 Jake Perkins – Youth Minister
Jake and his wife, Allison, are graduates of Oklahoma State University.
Jake became the Youth Minister in 2000. Jake completed a
Master of Arts degree in Family Ministry at Oklahoma Christian University
in December 2006. He
and his wife had their first child, Anderson, in January
2006. |
 Kent Risley – Associate Minister
Kent, a graduate of Oklahoma Christian, previously worked with the
Edmond congregation as the Campus Minister from 1988 to 2001. Since
2001, he has served as the Associate Minister. Kent and his wife,
Brenda, have three children: Caleb, Sarah and Hannah. |
 Randy Roper – Family Life Minister
Randy began serving the Edmond church in 1994 as the Youth Minister and
then, in 1999, moved to his current position. Randy holds a Bachelor’s
degree in Mass Communication and a Master of Arts degree in Ministry
from Oklahoma Christian. Randy and his wife, Kerianne, enjoy spending
time with their son, Riley. |
 John
Trotter – Church Accountant/Elder
John serves as one of the shepherds of the Edmond Church
of Christ, and he also works in the church office as the
accountant/facilities manager. John and his wife,
Vickie, are very involved with the campus ministry and
specifically the Mexico mission trip. They have
two grown children and five grandchildren. |
 Don Vinzant – Senior Minister
Don has been with the Edmond congregation since 1989. Prior to becoming
Edmond’s Pulpit Minister in 1999, Don was an Associate Minister at
Edmond and a full-time faculty member at Oklahoma Christian University.
Don received a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Austin Presbyterian
Theological Seminary. Besides working with various stateside
congregations, Don and his wife, Carol, were missionaries in Sao Paulo,
Brazil for 12 years. |
