Campus ministry takes mission trip to
Northeast U.S. & Canada
Campus minister Evan Burkett is leading a team of 10 university students
this week on a 12-day mission trip to Montreal, Quebec, and Torrington,
CT, with a quick visit to New York City.
The
group plans to help the Montreal congregation—where our missionary Roger
Saumur serves—promote and prepare for their summer evangelism effort to
families. They will also be in Canada to worship with and encourage the
Saumurs. Afterwards, the group will travel to Torrington, CT, to work
with our missionaries Steve and Maryann Bastin. A quick visit to New
York City will follow.
"My
hope is that our students will see that there are Kingdom opportunities
internationally as well as domestically and that mission work should
happen wherever they are. Being sent by God may mean staying close to
home," said Burkett.
Students going on the mission trip include Amber Grubb, Kirby Tomberlin,
Traci King, Tiffany King, Tracey Dye, Amanda Nix, Patrick Rayner, Corey
Pless, Brett Russell, and Brett Worsham. They plan to return home on May
10. |
